Stay home, Save lives

Transcript of the video

Pat Dowling, Chief Executive of Clare County Council.

I wish to take this opportunity to appeal to everybody over this bank holiday weekend to stay at home and resist the temptation of travelling across their community or their county or other counties.

We are in the midst of an international global crisis and we wish to make sure that we all make an effort together to minimise the spread of Covid-19 and to minimise the number of fatalities in our county and country.

So those who have holiday homes, caravan parks, other locations across County Clare who may be used to coming on this bank holiday weekend, on this occasion, I ask you to please, please stay at home.

We must all work together and as you know the Gardaí have put up checkpoints and restrictions which they're empowered to do and I support all the efforts they're making to resist the movement of people on this weekend and over the coming days.

For members of the community who require assistance during the current restrictions please contact the Clare Covid-19 Community Response helpline.

In the future we look forward to welcoming visits to Clare again, but for now please, please comply with the travel restrictions and keep Ireland safe.
